Thank you not-so Secret Santa

A little while ago I posted that I was taking part in a Secret Santa run by Money Supermarket.

It’s been a couple of weeks and I’ve not only purchased and sent my present, but received mine from my Secret Santa.

Firstly, I need to have a grump. It wouldn’t be a post from me without a bit of a groan. So here goes. Dear Money Supermarket, I think you need to be taught what a Secret Santa is. See, I found out who my Secret Santa was. Turns out, it’s the blogger (Dragons and Fairy Dust) who I was buying for! Turns out all they have done is pair up bloggers rather than doing a true Secret Santa. Should have just been called a bloggers present exchange!

Okay, gripe over. Onto the exciting stuff!

The other week I received a couple of interesting looking parcels. Cracked into them and this is what I found:

Secret Santa

(Danbo not included)

A personalised diary and an awesome lens cup! I’ll be completely honest, I was a whole lot more excited about the lens cup than the diary. It’s a lovely touch that the diary is personalised, but as you know, Google owns my life. So, my diary is totally online in my Google Calendar. I haven’t used a physical diary in years! Slave to the digital era.

But the lens cup is brilliant. The lens hood doubles as a lid and a little biscuit/mince-pie plate. An excellent present for someone who’s a fan of photography.

I hope my gift receiver likes her gift. I was aiming to get her something that has a bit of my influence in terms of my interest, but something that she could use with what she loves too. Fingers crossed!

  1. I’ve seen those lens cups before and thought the concept was utterly brilliant. Have you used it yet? Or has Danboard snatched it from you and is playing for keeps…

  2. OHMY~ what an awesome gifts. You are so lucky that you didn’t get duds! These gifts are totally you! You love photography, so that cup is perfect (and adorable!). I love journals. I’m a journal hoarder! LOL I’ve never had a custom one before! That’s too cute. You really lucked out!

I’m sure your secret santa will love your gift as well!

  3. I suppose you would have found out who your Secret Santa was from the return address on the package (?). Anyways, yes, there should be some true exchange and not just paired-up. What an appropriate gift for you, a lens hood/cap!!!

    • Nah, there was no return address on the package. Delivered straight from the online shop that it was purchased at.

      Very appropriate gift!
