Project 365: October

Oh hey, November – you’re here already? I wasn’t expecting you so soon. See, I thought October might have been a bit longer. Well, as long as you’re here, stick around, won’t you.

The weather has finally started cooling down! The couple of weeks in October were lovely. Sure, it’s still in the low 30s during the day. But the evenings have been lovely. Nothing better than sitting on the balcony with a couple of beers, chatting the night away.

October has been a “business as usual” sort of month. I did manage to watch a pretty epic amount of films – catching up with the likes of The Wolf of Wall Street, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, The Raid 2: Berental, Joe, Locke, Warrior and a couple of duds! Oh and I began my journey with the No-Poo Method – more on that later!

But I admit, taking photos every day was a bit of a struggle. And I’ve missed a fair few days this month.

What I’m looking for in November

  1. OH is currently in America (Has been for a week already.) and will be coming back in a couple of weeks. Definitely looking forward to that!
  2. A few days after he returns, my parents are coming over for a visit. Be up to us to show them around Bahrain for a few days.
  3. With the return of the OH means, hopefully, a rooftop BBQ. Also, pancakes. Demanded he make me his pancakes on his return.

How have your Octobers been?

  1. I’m a little bit terrified of No Poo. I know that my hair will benefit immensely from it – just changing to a parabens free shampoo has been amazing – but it’s the initial pain of grossness that I don’t think I’d be able to cope with!

    • See, I think I forced a little grossness on myself by forcing myself not to wash my hair for a week. I could have easily washed with the baking soda/ACV in that week. After my initial wash though – no grossness! I have a post coming up on it 😉

  2. Fun shots. I don’t think I have the discipline to take a photo each day. Well, October was hectic but a lot of fun w/ the local film fest going on. Got to meet some fun indie filmmakers/actors so that’s always rewarding.

  3. Definitely time is flying! You made the pie up top? Yum! Can’t believe OH has been gone for that long. He better have a good reason (and bring back lots of gifts). Exciting, parents visiting for the first time??? It was nice to end October on Halloween as a highlight!

    • Well, OH made the pie. It looked better than it tasted, sadly. But it was our first hot water crust pie! We’ve learnt a few things 😉

OH is gone for work. I’ve given him a list of a few things he needs to bring back, hah!

First time the parents are visiting. They’ve never been to Bahrain before, so it’ll be interesting!

  4. Hey, if you ever make your way to America for any reason, Jaina, please look me up! I know OH is just over here right now, but seriously . . . would love to meet you in person!

OK, back to a response to your actual post, haha. Hey, you saw Seeking a Friend for the End of the World! I loved that movie, despite how underappreciated the movie seemed to be.

    • There are some vague plans, that will hopefully move to firm plans soon, to be Stateside next year! Possibly Feb. Fingers crossed!

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World left me feeling incredibly melancholy! I don’t know if it was the mood I was in, or whatever else, I know it’s sort of meant to make you feel the opposite!
