It’s something that’s been kicking around as an idea in my head for a long time. But in my head it seemed like a long task, that would take weeks of planning and execution—it’s taken a week. Maybe a little over a week of me spending a few hours every other evening getting shit done. I severely overestimated the time I needed to pull this off. Perhaps I was over thinking what I needed to do. I definitely was.

The newsletter—what’s it all about? It’s going to be an extension of Time Well Spent. It’ll replace the current bog-standard WordPress email notifications I currently have set up here that send an email out whenever I post something new. Instead I’ll be sending an email, once a month, to let willing subscribers know what’s new on the blog and what I’m up to, and anything else I feel like sharing, including: interesting links from around the interwebs, photos of mine, and more.

Why only once a month? I’m not blogging regularly enough to bring exciting new content to your inboxes on a weekly basis, and I don’t have time. I want the newsletter to be a regular thing, and right now that means setting it up as something I can handle, which is a monthly newsletter.

It may sound like I haven’t nailed down exactly what the newsletter will be about, because that’s true. There’s going to be a little bit of learning involved—learning what people want and what I can deliver.

There’s another reason I’m starting this newsletter, and that’s to act as a playground for me and help me keep my skills up. I want to see if I can bring some of what I’ve learnt for my career into a slightly different arena.
