Currently Watching: An Update

TV

This year in March I ran through all of the TV shows I was currently watching. That wasn’t all that long ago, but already that list needs an update thanks to a slew of new cable shows and a couple of network shows I’ve started watching.

As there are quite a lot, please read on below to see the entire list:

Game On for The Guild

TV

I watched a couple of seasons of The Guild. That’s all. Don’t get me wrong, I really did like it, but for some reason, despite being a short webisode series, I could never keep up or fit it in to my regular TV viewing. There is no logic in that I know.

Despite this I Guild things still amuse me. Last year Do you want to date my avatar? made me laugh quite a lot, and I was actually impressed with it! I shouldn’t say that with so much shock implied, tonally.

I think The Guild guys have surpassed it with Game On. I’ve only just seen it, I know – incredibly slow of me! It made me laugh more. Could be the Bollywood thing. Could be the line up doing the lightbulb. They got the Bollywood so right in it! Also Felicia Day can really pull off a sari. Eh, maybe I’m bias because it is a bit Bollywood, and despite me not really liking Bollywood, it is something I grew up with so I have a well hidden soft spot for it. You judge for yourself:

The cry baby

TV

I think I may have a problem. A serious one.

Channel hopping last night I started watching a bit of Penguin Island on the BBC. They had this story of a little penguin who’s foot was so mangled he could barely walk and it wasn’t looking good.

I started CRYING! Well not full on crying but proper tears and the sort.

Of course it all worked out at the end, he had a mangled but better foot. He was released back into the wild. At which point I head tears of happiness.

This isn’t the first time I’ve cried at wildlife/animal related TV shows. I need to stop watching them.

Currently Watching…

TV

I haven’t done any fandom related catchup posts, either forever, or for a very long time. I’ve started watching a bunch of new things and have dropped, maybe, a couple of shows I had been watching for a while. Felt now was as good a time as any to give a little catch-up on my TV habits.

(As it’s such a long list, I feel I should hide it behind a ‘read-more’ link. There’s an awful lot!)

Currently obsessing over

TV

Last week this Battlestar Galactica video appeared on the interwebs and I got a little obsessed over it.

Why so obsessed? Mostly because it’s one of the few fanvids that has really, really impressed me. Not just because it uses The Beastie Boys’ Sabotage, which I love, but how well the video was put together.

I vaguely remember the original Beastie Boys video but the video creator helpfully put a video together which does a side-by-side comparison of the two videos:

Massive kudos to the video creator for really putting in some work in getting the video looking so alike and just damn entertaining. Other than being a damn good music video, it’s also made me realise I really need to watch Battlestar Galactica all over again in a massive rewatch. I really miss that show.

(This is last week’s news, but I didn’t get around to posting it, save for tweeting about it. )
