Is it because I’m getting old and getting curmudgeonly about TV in general, that I’ve fallen out with it? Or whether over the years of watching all sorts of crap on TV, I’m finally figuring out what I actually enjoy watching. Or if the quality of TV shows currently is just pure crap. OR if after the end of Breaking Bad, no other TV shows will compare.
Whatever it is these days I’d rather come home and watch a decent film in the evening and be done. A couple of hours of watching just one thing. That’s fine by me. It also allows me to fit in some quality brain-not-required TV.
What am I currently watching? (Shows that are currently on air) Let’s see:
Bye-bye October. Hello November. October has gone by ridiculously quickly. Wasn’t it just September? Oh, wait, is that just senility creeping in early?
I survived St Judes Storm! *sigh* The build up over this was hilarious. Bigger than the storm of 1987, they were saying! I remember the storm in 1987. It was terrifying. Sure I was three. But I remember being terrified. St Judes Storm managed to blow my bin open. WOOOO. My 50ft trees in my garden were still standing. Though public transport ground to a halt. God bless British public transport.
Exciting stuff. I got my G+ vanity URL! Along with hundreds, probably thousands, of other people. But it still managed to excite me – http://google.com/+JainaMistry
In other terribly unexciting social media news, I’m back on Pinterest. I never really left as such. But, I just forgot about it and didn’t think I had a use for it any more. Oh no. I’ve remembered why I liked it and so, will be pinning like a fiend from now on. Maybe not quite fiend-like. Near-fiend. Feel free to follow me.
So, back to something vaguely interesting. How was October? Well, it went quickly and quietly…
There was a plan to post something during the week. But my laptop decided to die. Okay, let me correct that. Windows decided to die. For, possibly, the third time in 6 months Windows 7 on my laptop had freaked out while, I think, trying to do an update and the operating system just died. Start-up loop. JOY. Thankfully, because a) this has happened so many times and b) all my data is stored on my Synology NAS, it’s not too much of a big deal to have to re-install Windows and start from scratch on my laptop. Just a pain having to re-install drivers and software and what not.
It wouldn’t be a total lie if I were to say that Apple Macs are suddenly seeming an attractive alternative. If they weren’t so bloody expensive.
The Sopranos. Done and dusted. It was one of those shows that I missed out on when it first started airing. Probably because I wasn’t nearly as TV obsessed as I am now. Some time ago Sky Atlantic started from the very beginning with the show and being the current TV obsessive I am now, I couldn’t not pass up giving this show a watch.
Now this wasn’t a marathon watch. This was a one episode per week watch. Well, near enough. So, bare with me if the details for me have become a bit fuzzy over the months. And there will be spoilers. So if you haven’t seen the show and have a small inclination of watching, please move on!
