My Bloody Valentine (06/02/10)
It’s strange watching this movie in 2D rather than 3D. All those 3D quirks look a little bit pathetic in 2D. No, that’s a bit harsh. But they did make me laugh. Various pick axes, gore, bullets and more coming straight at me from the TV but without the 3D effects probably made me enjoy the movie slightly less. These days it feels like almost every movie is getting the 3D treatment and I’m getting a little tired of it. I’d like to see more of this kind of movie – especially made for 3D with 3D in mind with all the goofy little 3D bits coming at the screen. Sadly without the full 3D effect this movie lost some of its charm on me. I guessed the killer from, what felt like, the get go. Sure, at times, I did think – ‘Wait… maybe I’m wrong.’. Though I wasn’t. There was a good amount of gore and it did keep me entertained for the short amount of time it was on my screen. Though Jensen Ackles is just Dean Winchester to me. Maybe it was the clothes he was in. He looked like he walked straight off the set of Supernatural! All in all an entertaining but not amazing horror movie.
Rating: 2/5
