January’s Alphabet Soup is running a little behind

2012 Photography Project, Photo Challenges

Remember I said that I’d post weekly updates on how my alphabet soup photo challenge was going? Well, I’m a few weeks late on this, aren’t I? Ooops! Also, I’m running behind in the alphabet. This challenge is proving harder than I had initially thought it would.

It’s like playing Words with Friends and all your tiles are vowels and you can’t make anything out of them!

Regardless, I’ve managed A-K and N so far. I know, I know – I’ve still got L and M to do from last week and get up to the letter T by the end of this week. I’ll get there!

So what have I done so far? Here they are!

B-Bird Of Prey

C-Cody

D-Danbo

E-Existence

F-Firey

G-Green Fingers

H-Holiday

I-Icy Cold

J-Jewels

K-Kickstart

N-Nikon

Here I thought spreading 26 letters throughout a 31 day month would be an easy way to ease myself back into doing some sort of 365 project. Definitely is not.

  1. Don’t be discouraged though. Love what you’ve done so far. I’m behind as well and stuck on a few letters. May have to use a little imagination πŸ™‚

    • When I get stuck on a letter I find it really hard to progress and just move on until I get that letter. I know I’ve made a mental note to go back to it, but I just feel I can’t move on until I get *that* letter.

I love your shots, really, really love them. It’s amazing how many letter shapes there are out there if you look hard enough.

      • I know what you mean. You want to beat that “stuckness”. But perhaps if you do move on it will come to you more easily. I know for a fact that if I’m intent on getting a particular shot and it’s not working, I should let it go. Then in a strange way something else better comes up.

ps: Thanks for your kind words about my shots. Now very worried about F and Q. But I am determined to finish the set πŸ™‚

        • I had that moment on my way to work this morning where I wished I’d had my camera… I spotted a potential new other letter! Doh! Hate it when that happens.

I’m sure F and Q will both come to you when you least expect it. Just remember to have your camera around and don’t do a me!

          • I’ve got my Q! So happy!

Having a camera around is usually not a problem. My handbag weighs a ton because of it πŸ™‚

            • Woohoo!

Same here! I indulged and got myself a Kelly Moore bag last year (so totally worth it) and it just feels wrong if I don’t have my camera in it.

  2. Wow, Jaina, these are great! You make so many goals and challenges for yourself – movies, photography, blogging . . . geez, what’s next?! πŸ˜‰

My favorites are A, C, and D. The dog one is especially cute πŸ™‚

    • Heh, like to keep myself busy I think! You wait, I’ll think of something else to occupy my time with this year!

  3. Your pics looks great, Jaina! I really love the way you frame details… Simple, yet so evocative.
Good luck with the challenge πŸ™‚

  4. I have done A-Z, but not posted all yet. I might redo some of them. I’m now thinking of how to do the special characters used in the Nordic/Faroese alphabet.
It has been great fun to do this so far.

    • They are awesome! Uploading some right now, still missing a few letters though πŸ™ X and Z are proving problematic.
