Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 5

The cast of Buffy’s fifth season. Is it me, or are they all incredibly pouty here?

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer rewatch rolls on. If a little slower than it has been rolling. Season 5 has been done and dusted and I ended it with more than just a little something in my eye.

A little history lesson

The fifth season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was going to be its final season. The WB hadn’t picked it up for a sixth season. But then UPN flew in and Buffy was getting a new lease of life post season five.

However, with this monumental move of networks, Joss Whedon wanted the ending of season five to be somewhat final. To mark an end to Buffy’s time at The WB. And season five was a great swan song to Buffy’s reign at The WB.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 4

As can be expected, my epic Buffy the Vampire Slayer rewatch has gone on the back burner a little bit thanks to the new season of TV. But, it’s still going and I’ve now got through the fourth season of the show! Huzzah!

Graduating to Buffy Season 3

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Ahh, season 3 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Where so many things changed. Also, my second favourite season of the show. Mostly because so much happens in this one season. Buffy comes back to Sunnydale, Angel comes back from his little holiday in hell, there’s a peppy new slayer in the shape of Faith (Who really shakes things up.), we got a new watcher in the shape of Wesley and we’ve got one of the best villains of the show – Mayor Richard Wilkins.

Buffy Season 1

Everyone has that one show. That one show they were totally obsessive over. I have two. But the one show I was obsessive over led to the second show I was obsessive over.

The first one being Buffy the Vampire Slayer. My god, I was (and still probably am) obsessed with that show. It wasn’t always the case though. I poo-poo’d the whole notion of the show. Until I was challenged by a friend to watch just one episode during its first run on BBC2. The episode I landed on was season 1’s The Puppet Show and I was hooked. It’s probably one of the weaker episodes of the season, but that alone was enough to hook me!

The other day I decided a rewatch was just what I needed. What with there not being much on TV at the moment, it felt like a perfect time.
