I am continually reminded of how effing beautiful this state is. When most folks think of Arizona, their minds immediately go to the desert landscapes and saguaro cacti. But head into the mountains, and you’re met with vistas like this.
North east of Payson, AZ is the Mogollon Rim. This view at a trailhead stopped me in my tracks. Literally, too—there was a pretty sheer drop to the edge!
This view looked like it was endless. In this moment, I was reminded how freaking huge this country is. And how little of Arizona I’ve yet to see.
