Misty, moody days at the park. It doesn’t happen often in Phoenix. In Boston, probably a bit more often. The shaded paths were a little shadier. And beyond the border of the shade, everything felt a bit unsaturated thanks to the mist that morning.

Night glow
Photos of night time scenes can be surprisingly colourful. With everything being so devoid of light, the little snatches of colour that appear feel more amplified. The street lamps on this empty alley in Malaga cast such a beautiful orange colour on the more reflective […]

All the colours of the rainbow
Closing out this week of photos with another from Beirut. Can anyone else tell me where you’d see a scene like this—a yellow, pink, and white building, all in completely different styles. With one having actual palm trees growing in the balconies. The palm tree-adorned […]

This is real
This photograph does not look real. Every time I see it, there’s something about it that looks completely artificial. These types of buildings shouldn’t be mixed together like this, should they? I absolutely love walking around this part of Boston for this reason. The mish […]

Will I ever see this Beirut again?
February, 2019, I spent a scant 4 days in Beirut. But they left an indelible mark on me. The same cliched reason that most people give when they travel to any place—the people, the food, the culture—but beyond that it was also the look and […]

Symmetrical in Seville
This is the stunning Royal Alcázar of Seville. Just one very small part of it. The Moorish architecture was so beautiful, I may have spent the entire time I visited, just looking up. With it being winter day, it was an overcast day. No blue […]

Into the woods we go
In this week of black and white themed photos, I’ve bounced around a little bit from lots of texture, not so much texture, big natural landscape. And now I’m sharing an image that is in contrast to… well high contrast black and whites—low contrast black […]

Alcatraz, just visiting
It was such a lovely, bright sunny day when I visited Alcatraz. It betrayed how I felt visiting this a place with a dark history. History that I was very much clueless about. I took this photo as the boat was pulling away from the […]

Sunset in a mining town
Clifton, Arizona. A tiny little town with a population of around 3,700. Just a stop along the way—or more accurately—the start of a fun “little” drive. An interesting, and dare I say it, eye-opening town for this Brit who’s really not seen a lot of […]
