This isn’t what I usually do, but seems to becoming a bit of a recent trend. Following last week’s trip to see Prisoner of Second Avenue, I made another trip to the theatre this weekend. Not a play this week, but a musical – Sister Act!

The intention was meant to be going to see Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Superior but unfortunately she had to go back to America as her mother had a stroke. So I was a bit disappointed, though wishing Whoppi’s mother all the best!

Despite no Whoopi, I’d been wanting to see Sister Act for a while. I love the movie and it’s hard not to start humming ‘Follow Him’ just thinking about the film. Sadly that, nor any of the movie songs, are in the musical. Didn’t stop it from being a fun show! Think my favourite bit was the chasing at the end of the musical – made me laugh!

Shame about Whoopi, but still plenty of laughs. Even with each funny line being repeated by the person behind me, about a second after it’s been said on stage.
