Waiting for the day when I’ll stop being amazed that these sort of views and sights are just a stone’s throw away. That’s downtown Phoenix in this image, taken from South Mountain.
The wonderful thing about South Mountain is how accessible this view from it is—you don’t need to hike! (Though I do love a good hike.) To get to this view, just drive up to Dobbin’s Lookout and take in the sights.
It wasn’t until the first time I saw the city from South Mountain that I full comprehended that Phoenix was in a valley. Talk about a “duh” moment.
