September. The month traditionally known for the end of summer and the start of autumn. Except in Bahrain where it’s October and still pretty damn hot outside!
The month itself has been business as usual with no major excitement. Honestly, these highlights are going to be a bit dull this month!
Highlights from September…
- We got a new TV! Joint birthday present from OH’s family. Seriously, this is a highlight for both of us. I MISS my TV from England.
- Along the same lines, I got some more of my stuff from England! Among the clothes, shoes and bags was my amp! Which is now set up with speakers, loaned to my from my brother.
- Getting better with gymming it. Not just gym, but weekly squash as well. I am useless with squats though. My legs are terrible!
- Erm… I think that’s it!
I did say, September was a very quiet, average sort of month.
Day 244 Feet up, it’s a lazy Labour Day bank holiday.
Day 245 “Make tea not war” ~ Monty Python. Too true. Trying to drink more green tea. Make use of the mountains of it we have here.
Day 246 Self-portrait. Of a sort.
Day 247 Slumped on the sofa is where you’ll find me.
Day 249 Weekly squash sessions are brutal. Forgot how much I enjoyed it. And how much of a good work out it is.
Day 250 Olives, Negronis, Negroni top ups and the latest episode of The Knick to watch. Can’t get much better than this.
Day 251 Excuse me while I have breakfast for dinner. It looks, BAD I know. Honestly, it was delicious.
Day 252 Apparently this is the best dish I have ever made. And it’s made once every week for that same reason.
Day 253 From the top down. Directly down, from the balcony.
Day 254 Big ol’ package from England. My amp and my brother’s, no longer in use, speakers! WOO! I miss my speakers 🙁
Day 255 It’s the kind of evening when you can’t be bothered to cook and all you want is a bit of Nandos.
Day 256 Learning a few magic tricks. Proud to say, I was a quick learner.
Day 257 Butternut squash mash, home made gravy and sausages? Yes please!
Day 258 Life is indeed, good.
Day 259 Gym-ing it regularly now. Contemplating a self-portrait, but it was far too disgustingly sweaty.
Day 261 As hard as I try, I just can’t skip my morning coffee. Morning coffee or morning chai. The chai is dependent on when the OH wakes up.
Day 262 All the remotes, we have them now. Digital TV, TV and amp. Evening of films, G&T and vegging. Not bad.
Day 264 Went to eat lunch at a restaurant called The Yellow Lemon today. Though unsure what other colours lemons come in. Incidentally, was not the only restaurant called “Lemon” that was visited that day.
Day 264 BIG breakfast today. Eggs, mushrooms, potatoes, chai and most special of all – PANCAKES.
Day 265 Two years yesterday. And looking forward to many, many more.
Day 268 Been a very, very quiet week. All the same, the weekend can’t come soon enough.
Day 269 It just dawned on my that my sneakers are red, white and blue.
Day 271 We do get some pretty epic sunsets in Bahrain. Not a cloud in the sky and it’s stunning.
Day 272 Feeling a little upside down today.
Day 230 Wallowing in the pits of being ill. Huzzah! :/

What I’m looking forward to in October
- Again, I say, for the weather to cool down and to be able to sit out on the balcony.
- So many films! Though, not sure how many of those cinema releases I’ll get to see.
- Finales of the first seasons of Manhattan and The The Knick. Incredibly happy that they both have second seasons.
- And whatever else October has in store for me.
How have all of your Septembers been?
My September felt like one of the most dull months of the year so far. I do love October though, so I’m happy to finally be in it! Love your pictures, especially the one of the shoes.
Good for you with going to the gym more. It’s what I NEED to do! Ha. That, and eat a little better. I’ve been trying to work out, but it’s not always fun, so it’s a challenge to convince myself to go out, ha.
Thanks Kristin 🙂
It helps that my gym is in the building I live in, so I sort of have absolutely no excuse to just go up a few flights and into the gym.
Love the glimpses of your life and your glimpses together. Hey, Nando’s. Pretty good food there :).
I keep telling myself I need to take more pictures of us! But what usually happens is I say that after just enjoying myself if we’ve been out all day or some such! Hard to balance recording the moments and living them.
Gym in your building = no excuse! Yay for being together 2 years, here’s to many more! And also, that mug is so cool!
After squash/gym you’ve earned the right to put your feet up in front of the new TV 🙂
