Dust storms aren’t uncommon in Bahrain. Far from a weekly, or even monthly occurrence. But I’ve got used to seeing “widespread dust” as a weather forecast on my phone. They can last an entire day, or be burned up in the midday sun. Sometimes the dust rolls in during the afternoon, creating havoc on the roads at night as visibility shrinks to just metres.
Not long ago the lovely dust rolled in and stuck around for an entire day. Think pea-soup fog, but dust rather than water particles. Me being me thought this was a good day to take some photos. Every day’s an opportunity, right?
At night Bahrain turned into some dystopian looking, Blade Runner-esque vision, thanks to all the crazy light shows attached to the hotels and apartment blocks near where I live.
I’m just glad I didn’t have to go out in it. I chose to go out in it.
