Minaret and a Sunset

A Minaret at Sunset

Bahrain, Photography

Sunsets in Bahrain are some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. Especially during winter when there are actually clouds in the sky. Combine that with the mosques and their minarets dotted all over the place, and you’ve got something quite special.

I took this photo in November 2015. We’d just finished grocery shopping. It was getting late in the day, and I still hadn’t taken my 365 photo for that day. After packing all the groceries into the boot of the car, I looked up and saw the sky filled with the most perfect colours.

Shame on me for not having my camera on me. But they say the best camera is the one on me, so phone photo it was.

It’s strange that I remember the exact time and place I took this photo. It was just like any other weekend trip to the grocery store–there was nothing special about that day. But that’s what I loved most about doing a 365 project. I use my 365 projects to find that bit of “special” in the everyday.

Thoughts like this make me consider starting another 365 project. But then I remember, there’s only so many photos of the coffee table I can take!
