There’s no other place quite like Alcatraz. To listen to the stories of what wasn’t really all that long ago. It’s when I realised the stories weren’t all that long ago that I really grasped the reality of where I was.
On the boat, sailing away from The Rock, it looks like such a beautiful place.
Jealous you got to visit Alcatraz and here the stories. An impressive yet ominous sight!
The prison movies on the island should be obvious. Instead I’ll mention a new film that got good reviews at Sundance The Last Black Man in San Francisco (2019) which a critic said is “bound to go down as one of the all-time-great San Francisco films”. I don’t know if Alcatraz is part of the story but could be a good film!
I’d love to visit one day! It’s on my Travel list for sure.
