Photograph of a tree in autumn, covered with orange and red leaves.

Is summer coming to an end?

It might be a little too soon for me to celebrate, but we had our first sub 100F day earlier this week since summer began. I’ve been able to have breakfast sitting outside. Summer is officially winding down and I can’t wait.

Taken last year in Sedona, on the West Fork hiking trail, this image is a nice reminder of all the outdoorsy things I’ll once again be more easily able to do when the temperatures start to decline. “Easily” being the operative word.

It looks like there are a few more 100-ish degree days yet, but only a handful. I can see the autumn at the end of this tunnel.

P.S. You can buy a print of this image over on my Darkroom gallery.
