Please let the days start to get cooler. Please? Just the other day it was about 36 degrees C outside, but the feels like temperature was in the 50s. With 84% humidity. At 1am. This. This is life in Bahrain in the summer.
By the looks of the photo highlights I’ve picked out for August 365 photos, it just looks like I spent the entire month eating. In my defence though, there’s not a lot of other things to do in Bahrain when it gets this hot. It’s either eating, going to the mall and drinking. Well, okay. Sorry. That’s not fair. But I think it’s fair to say those are probably the most popular things to do.
Blogging wise, July has been a lazy month. Unintentionally lazy. There are a whirl of ideas for posts in my head. But I can’t seem to get them down here. Call it some sort of mental block. Or just call it what it is – laziness!
At the beginning of July I was in a whole other country on a whole other continent. The beginning of the month saw the tail end of my trip to see my folks in Portugal.
This June recap is a little late. We’re definitely well into the second week of July. The last couple of weeks of June blitzed by with travel plans and then eventual said travelling.
While I struggled a little bit in May for my 365 project, I think things picked up a little bit more in June. It’s still tricky. When you reach the half way point, and you are running out of things in the home and on your day-to-day routine to take photos of. You’re forced to be a bit more creative. Or just dig around more in the cupboards and closets for things to take photos of.
It’s nearly 10pm on a Monday evening and I’ve just finished editing a few photos from the weekend, when I remembered I’ve got a blog post sitting in my draft box. Yeah, should finish that and publish it. Then it dawns on me that we’re in June and I haven’t posted my Project: 365 recap for May. Mostly because I had forgotten we started June today.
May was a struggle. After the first couple of weeks of the month, I hit my 365 brick wall and was struggling to find any inspiration in the day-to-day. It’s tough when you don’t really do anything amazing every single day of your life. Though, I know for sure, I’d get completely exhausted by that in no time.
Not giving up! Going to keep on going. Smash through the brick wall and pull myself out of the rut and whatever other analogy works here.
It feels like barely anything has really happened this month. Looking back at my photos though I can see there was the X-Fighters Jams, an epic grilled cheese and margarita night, saying goodbye to Justified, the Bahrain GP, finally visiting the National Museum, a visit from my brother and launching a new blog. So anything but dull.
And that’s exactly one of the reasons why I’m doing my second Project 365 in a row – I can look back at the photos and have a reminder of exactly what’s been going on.
