Things have been a little quiet over here since the start of the year, haven’t they? My bad. January’s usually that month that feels like it’s going on and on. Yet this year, I’m finding it hard to believe that one month of 2013 is already almost over. Wasn’t Christmas just last week?
So what have I been up to? Honestly, not much past the normal! But the normal’s always more interesting when littered with photos. Am I right?
Last Saturday evening I was struggling home after watching another brilliant couple of rollerderby bouts. (Which Ron Howard was at! Can you believe that?!) Why struggling? It began snowing! Not just a little, but quite a frigging lot. It didn’t stop overnight and then when I woke up on Sunday morning there was a massively thick covering. Well, more than we usually get here in England!
What did I want to do? Go outside, take photos and throw snowballs at Cody. I’m so mean. But she’d never seen snow before the weekend and a few snowballs sounded like a good introduction.
She kinda loved it. So did I. I’m not ashamed to admit it. She didn’t quite understand the concept of a snowball, but she didn’t need to.
Apart from me making fun of my little Cody, managed to drag myself away from playing with her and took some other snowy/wintery shots.
Sign of the end of the cold spell? I hope so. An icicle drips away as it apparently warms up. Just as I was taking this photo it began to snow again.
Something a bit experimental when it came to Lightroom. Don’t think it quite worked. Was trying to get more definition from the sky, instead it’s all a bit blue.
Not a brilliant shot for today, but it’s Friday and I was tired and finding inspiration when it’s pitch black is hard. So mental note – take more pictures in the daylight!
This shot is a street light across the road from me, taken when it just started snowing again. Only lightly, but … follows on the cold theme we’ve been having here in the UK for the past week or so.
