Easy A (26/11/11)
A clean-cut high school student relies on the school’s rumor mill to advance her social and financial standing.
I loved this film. It was fun and cute and funny. Emma Stone was brilliant. I loved Olive and her kooky little family. I loved what she was trying to do and then ultimately ended up doing. There’s that wholesome message attached to the film’s story, but it’s not heavy-handed. Far from it. It’s light and fun!
Ok, I’ve used the F word quite a lot to describe this film, but it’s what fits. I didn’t get bored. I might have got overly frustrated with Rhiannon, but I think that was the point of her.
It’s nice to see a decent and intelligent teen film. I thought those days were long gone.
Rating: 4/5

I just loved this movie. The word ‘kooky’ describes her little family unit perfectly. Some of my favourite scenes were of Olive with her parents. The movie had a simple message but it was well executed, I felt.
I never once thought the parents were overly kooky. They were just kinda awesome.
Been awhile since I saw it, but yeah, this was a fun one.
I just hope Emma doesn’t get overexposed. She’s great and all but I’m starting to feel like she’s in every other movie.
Me too. Well, she’s got Spidey coming up soon, that’ll make her a much bigger name.
Maybe she’s just done a Natalie Portman and filmed a whole heap of films and the studios are just releasing them in a massive Emma-Stone-batch!
Emma Stone is awesome, and I loved this movie. I’d been looking for a smart, funny movie for a while that didn’t require too much brain power. Honestly, the mum and dad stole the movie for me.
Emma Stone is fab. One of my favourite new actresses!
Loved it too! It’s not really a classic (ala Mean Girls) but it’s light-hearted fun and definitely a movie I could see myself watching over and over when it’s on TV.
Very funny teen-comedy with Emma Stone looking and acting better than ever. Good review Jaina.
Impressive list! I haven’t seen ‘Easy A’ myself–not a fan of these type of films. May have to check it out. I commend you on your ‘to view’ list!
I’m not usually a fan of these kind of films, but there are a few gems out there in this genre. This is definitely one of them 🙂
So funny! Like you, I’m not a huge fan of the genre, but I enjoyed this one.
It’s well written, and Patricia Clarckson and Stanley Tucci’s characters are just hilarious.
Plus, after watching it, I couldn’t get that damn song out of my mind!
I was humming it for the rest of the day!
