Is that they’re just too damn short. Especially when they’re crammed full of everything. Though not enough films. In fact none! I had no time to watch a single film. For shame.
A rollercoaster ride
Saturday was A-MAZING. It’s been roughly 8 months since my last trip to Thorpe Park so clearly it was time for another. More so because there’s a brand new rollercoaster there I hadn’t been on – The Swarm!
(For you guys who aren’t familiar, Thorpe Park’s this little theme park down my end of the world. It’s small, but packed full of some of the best rollercoasters I’ve ever been on.)
While The Swarm’s not my new favourite rollercoaster I still really loved it. It was just a little bit too short. Over far too quickly. Which is a shame. So much fun while you’re on it though. Saw The Ride still stands as my favourite rollercoaster. I can’t not get tired of that one.
We were lucky with the weather on Saturday. Apart from a couple of random showers, it was dry and fairly warm! During one said shower we thought it was a good idea to cram 5 adults into one teacup for the Teacup ride. While not a good idea, I do hope it’s not the last time we do that.
The thing with theme parks is that they completely knacker me out. Could have slept for a lot longer than I did on Saturday night. But Sunday arrived far too quickly and I was needed!
DIY-ing the Right Way
I was a very good sister and spent the day helping my brother with some DIY at his place. For the whole entirety of the day. Don’t think I got home until half night Sunday evening. I was painting, sanding, drilling, poly-filling. Not in that order. That would make for a horrific finish.
Has given me some ideas of what I would like to do in my own place…
And then it was Monday…
Woke up this morning wishing it was Sunday morning. But it wasn’t so the only thing I could do was, pull the covers over my head and do my best to ignore the morning. Fifteen minutes later I forced myself out of bed.
As much as I hate it when weekends fly by, it is a nice feeling knowing that I did something useful on the weekend. And yes, I count going to Thorpe Park as useful.
So how was your weekend?
I love the angle where you took the roller coaster photo. Looks so high! I love when weekends go fast ’cause that means it was fun. When it’s slow, it’s sooo slow, especially with a toddler.
Definitely high. When I got to the top, that was one of the first things I noticed! HIGH!
Need to get myself to Thorpe Park again one day! Want to have a go on Swarm. I was looking after my 13 yr old nephew so Coral Reef swimming then I tried to teach him to roller blade! Also researching DSLR cameras, trying to figure out which one best suits my needs!
Swarm is amazing. They put in a lot of effort to get the setting to look right. Even then, couldn’t help but poke holes in it. Great ‘coaster!
Coral reef swimming and roller blading? Man, I need to spend a weekend doing that!
Shopping for a DSLR can feel a little daunting, I remember. So many things to think about! Hit me up if you need any tips π
ahhh Thorpe Park, it has been too long since I endured it!! Last time I went I was very hung over and that Nemesis ride….was, well very interesting!
I was home alone with the kids and Dog this weekend, so I managed to have a good film watching time, when they went to bed anyway… I will tell more in my round up!
Sorry for my absence since Wednesday, I have been on a little holiday!!
Back now.
Heh. Nemesis isn’t the smoothest of coasters either, so I don’t even want to imagine what it’s like while hungover!
How is Dolly? Been ages since we’ve seen a photo of her!
Just like that and the weekend is over! the first five days after the weekend are the hardest! π
Ugh, yes. Come on FRIDAY!
OMG….I’m kinda scared of roller coasters. I haven’t always had a fear of it, but just recently I’ve had that fear. It’s not heights, but it’s more like trust. I can’t just let go. LOL I don’t know if that make sense.
Anyways, I’m so happy that you had fun.
I have a friend who’s the same! He’d rather pilot a rocket to space than go on a rollercoaster. He’s got control over that thing!
Sounds like a fun weekend! I can’t do roller coasters myself. I got tricked into going into an “easy” ride at Six Flags a few years back — it was supposed to be a smaller roller coaster, but when I got in I found out that the ride takes place entirely in the dark! Freaked me out as we were going at breakneck speeds and flipping upside down. Never again. π
I wasn’t aware there were any “easy” rides at Six Flags parks! Would so LOVE to go to one, one day.
Sounds like my kind of ride!
My son’s best friend is a roller coaster expert and plans to make roller coaster engineering his career. He has been to TP several times this year already and of course my son had to come along, all in the name of research, of course π
Man, I wish my work’s research involved going on rollercoasters!
