A little while ago I posted one photo from my most recent outing to the Bahrain Fort, when the parental units were over visiting. I did in fact take a few more photos, but only just now getting round to posting them.
As I’ve said countless times before, Bahrain Fort is a beautiful historical site here in Bahrain. A UNESCO World Heritage Site. And yet it’s almost always empty whenever we’ve visited. Even though it’s free!

Walking into the fort and through these arches is pretty damn cool.

One of my favourite views from the fort – seeing all the skyscrapers in the distance while you’re surrounded by epically old ruins.
Despite the Bahrain Fort looking like it’s almost in the middle of nowhere, it’s literally scant minutes from Seef. A fact I keep having to remind myself. There’s a museum on site too, which isn’t free. I posted about it one time and here are some more photos from inside the museum.

A few of the “rooms” within the fort have some art installations inside them. They’re big on art over here in Bahrain. It’s pretty cool.

It’s not a small fort – takes a surprisingly long time to walk around.
With two visits to the fort under my belt, I still want to go back. It’s meant to be beautiful at sunset and sunrise. I’ve yet to find out, but hope to soon.
What a great place! I love that it’s free and has nooks/crannies with art installations in them. The vines in that one corner are fantastic :).
Love the very arty photos. Who knew they were big on art in Bahrain!
Massive! And it’s growing. Kinda cool.
