Project 365: February & March Recap

Project 365

Since coming back from holiday, it’s taken me a while to settle back into my blogging routine. Would you believe that I had written most of my blog posts back in January, and just queued them all up? I must have been on something!

I’ve been enjoying ‘not needing’ to blog. But beginning to miss this place. And what better way to get back into some sort of blogging routine, than with a Project 365 recap?

It’s April. The last recap I did was for January. So, this’ll be for February and March. And rather than all the photos, I’m being choosy and just picking some of my favourites. If you do want to check out all the photos so far they’re up at my Google+ photo album, and I post some sporadically to my instagram. When I remember.

Without further ado, here’s February and March’s highlights. (In reverse order. Because.)

How about a bit of still life for today?

I think I fallback on self portraits when I struggle to take a daily photo. And according to the last few of these I've done - I'm always wearing the same t-shirt.

Sunday we went to one of, what could be, our new favourite places to eat in Bahrain. Just down the road in Adliya - Pizza Empress. It's the second time we've been there. OH gets a talking about using a piece of steel to cook his pizzas on. The owner, Errin Stone, tries to convince him to just use a stone. Which we don't have. But we do want. BAM. Errin pulls out this stone that's just sitting under the counter. Gives it to use FOR FREE. Who does that?! Amazing. Anyway. Today OH spent the day cleaning and cooking anything unbeknownst out of the massive piece of stone. The house smells like something burnt, but least we have an awesome pizza stone to cook pizzas and pitas!

It's VACAY time!

Good morning, Phoenix!

In between eating and drinking in Portland, we did take in some sites. One being the Lan Su Chinese Garden.

I was going to choose the first photo I took upon seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time. Or maybe all the wonderfully snowy covered Flagstaff. Or the epic breakfast at MartAnne's. No, instead I choose a photo taken on a phone of a haggard pair who've just hiked to and from the half way point of Bright Angel Trail, in the snow. Probably my favourite day of the holiday.

Obligatory Grand Canyon shot, I feel.

Found a Chinese fortune I was gifted with while in Portland, visiting the Chinese Garden. Couldn't think of anything more vague.

Some epic rain going on outside today. Rain, lightning, thunder - we've got it all today.

These guys will cut you if you look at them wrong. Trust me, I've done it.

We have a blackboard! As you can see my skills in writing on a blackboard are pretty non-existent. Seems I can't write on a straight line. Expecting many uses out of the blackboard. And probably a lot more chalk dust that either of us were expecting.

I wish I could say that every day my breakfast looks this healthy. Heck that my mornings are this healthy - before this I was at the gym! All before work. Well, maybe I can try to kickstart a new habit.

Who else is doing a 365 out there right now? Hope it’s going well. Oh, you missed a day here and there over the last couple of months? Pfft! It doesn’t matter! If you do feel like you’re floundering and need some help, check out my handy set of Project 365 tips. Hope they’re helpful.

  1. As always, gorgeous photos! Love the shot of you and OH all bundled up. Plus the Grand Canyon shot I’d breathtaking.

  2. Hi Jaina,

I love that bokeh photo of the rain!!! This reminds me of my project 365. Should start updating on this. Thank god I’m still on track :p

  3. Cool that you got a free pizza stone! I hear it makes a difference. And cool photo through the rain on the window. Your photo of the knives reminds me I need to sharpen mine!

    • Having a pizza stone is one of the best things ever – it’s made a massive difference as it helps bring the temperature up for the oven, way beyond what it’s labelled as! Can’t wait to make more pizzas and some breads on it.

Man, those knives, lost count of how many times I’ve cut myself with them. They are lethal!
